DISD School Association & Board
The owner of the school is the German Consulate General in Dubai. The School Association is responsible for the maintenance of the school. At the general meetings, the members elect the DISD Board from the parents. The DISD Board acts on behalf of the members/parents of the School Association. Its duties, according to the statute (link in German), include:
- Setting the school’s policies
- Positioning and guaranteeing the school infrastructure
- Establishing the framework conditions that allow students and teachers to receive a quality school education
- Hiring of all employees, including school management, teaching staff, and administrative staff
- Determining the amount of school fees
- Preparation and monitoring of the annual budget, which in turn is approved at the General Assembly of Members
- Organizing and holding board meetings and general meetings.
The term of office of a board member is two years and can be extended by re-election.
Board meetings are held once a month. At these meetings, current DISD issues are discussed and decisions are made.
