Verse and Vision: Book by DISD- student * published

It's finally here! After an inspiring journey full of creativity, passion, and collaboration, we proudly hold the book "Verse and Vision at DISD: Poetic Artistic Meltdown" in our hands. This unique work is the result of a special poetry workshop during DISD Book Week, which student students from grades 8 and 9 as well as talented poets from grades 10 and 11 last school year. Head of The renowned author and poet Boris Pfeiffer created free lyrical texts that put deep emotions and creative thoughts into words.



Boris Pfeiffer inspired the participants by presenting his own poetry collections "Not from Adam's Rib: Gravitations 1" and "In the Middle of Life: Gravitations 2". Based on these, the students were able to student create their own poems and illustrations that touched them personally. They had the freedom to write their works in other languages, with a meaningful German translation to reflect the international flair of DISD. In addition to writing poems, there were student The students were given the opportunity to support their classmates with drawings or paintings and to enrich the poetic works with striking images. This enabled the artistically talented young people, in particular, to develop their expressiveness in an inspiring way and actively contribute to the overall work.


The resulting works were ultimately compiled into a book titled "Verse and Vision at DISD: Poetic Artistic Melting Material," printed by Boris Pfeiffer's publishing house. Typesetter Michele Meister delicately arranged the images and texts into a harmonious whole. The book was officially published with the ISBN 9783985301584 and is available in German bookstores for €18.99 and in the DISD school shop for AED 50.
Our librarian Lidija Babic, who organized and supervised the project, is particularly pleased with the work: "This book is a jewel in our library. It shows how deep and expressive the creativity of our students can be. student I can only recommend it to anyone who wants to delve into the poetic world of our young people." The authors are also enthusiastic about their book. "I never thought my thoughts would one day be expressed in a real book. The workshop showed how diverse poetry can be. It was exciting to experiment with language and images, and now seeing my own works in a real book at the end is truly special."
The illustrations and the book cover were created under the art education Head of by Dr. phil. Barbara Mayrhofer-Diaw. A special highlight was the experimental art project in which poems were visually interpreted using artificial intelligence. These AI-supported images were labeled accordingly.
