Robotics project of class 8
March 02, 2020
During the STEM project week (Mathematics/Computer Science/Nature/Technology), which took place at DISD from 02/02 to 06/02/2020, some student from 8a and 8b participated in the Robotics project.
In this project, the student engaged with great interest and commitment in the assembly and operation of a robot. In the process, they used the LEGO MINDSTORMS toolbox.
In an introduction by computer science department head Ms. Heikal and assistant teacher Ms. Ayach, they were introduced to the various components and how they work in the robot. This includes the use of motors and sensors, such as ultrasonic sensors and color sensors.
The goal was to program the robot so that it could move through a maze. To do this, the student used programming software with which they could control the robot. In order to use the sensors skillfully, the students had to come up with various solutions.
The project was successful and was very well received by the students. The knowledge acquired will be further deepened in computer science classes at DISD.
