Successful soccer evening at Ernst

The Ernst Biergarten was filled with a touch of the German homeland and a lot of soccer enthusiasm yesterday evening. Together with the Consulate General Dubai, the German International School Dubai (DISD) invited the school family to the second preliminary round match of the German team at Euro 2024. 130 soccer fans joined in the excitement and celebrated the 2:0 victory against Hungary. Both student as well as parents and employees of the German School Dubai and the Consulate General experienced an unforgettable evening together.

Among the fans were Deputy Consul General Ute Brunn and DISD Head of School Michael Lummel. "It's wonderful to see how King Football brings people together. An enthusiastic German national soccer team is celebrated by an enthusiastic German community here in Dubai," he said. He also emphasized the importance of such events for cultural exchange and a sense of togetherness among the DISD and the community. "Such events bring our school community even closer together. We are delighted that we were able to organize this great soccer festival together with the Consulate General."

The festive interior of the German restaurant, decorated in black, red and gold, provided the perfect opportunity to share the passion for soccer and feel the German community in the United Arab Emirates. With typical German snacks such as pretzels and sausages, the guests were well catered for. The event was not only a sporting highlight, but also a wonderful opportunity to make new friends and deepen existing contacts.
