DISD Enrollment Ceremony 2025
September 8, 2025
On August 29, a very special chapter in life began for 72 first graders – full of excitement, curiosity, and anticipation. Dressed in their brand-new school uniforms and carrying bulging school bags, the children beamed with joy as they took their seats in the festively decorated cafeteria together with their parents, grandparents, and families. The new students sat at the front with their hearts pounding, the excitement and anticipation palpable.
Headmistress Patricia Reisyan warmly welcomed the children and parents and emphasized how delighted the entire school community was to celebrate this special day together. Elementary school principal Inga Rehbein encouraged everyone to start this new phase of life with curiosity, courage, and openness. Together with the children, they celebrated this special moment with the families. Afterwards, the second and third grades, ledHead of Valentyna Haluskho, gave a cheerful musical welcome to their new classmates with two rousing songs.
Afterwards, the children were called onto the stage by class before heading to their lovingly decorated classrooms with their teachers. On their way, the seniors of the Class of 2026 formed a guard of honor and cheered on the first graders – a special moment that underscored the community and cohesion at DISD. In the classrooms, the children were able to gather their first impressions, get to know each other, and experience their very first school lesson.
Meanwhile, the school parents' council, supported by the parents of the 2nd grade classes, offered parents the opportunity to exchange ideas and get to know the school community better over coffee and a small cake buffet.
With four new elementary school classes and many moving moments, the first day of school at DISD was a successful start to the new school year. The school student accompanies its young student on their journey—supported by a dedicated teaching staff, a lively school community, and plenty of room for curiosity, joy, and new friendships that develop during these first few days.
