2026 High School Graduation Ceremony at the German International School Dubai

With pride, joy, and many touching moments, the German International School Dubai (DISD) bid farewell to its graduating class on May 22, 2026. In the presence of families, teachers, and guests of honor, 41 graduates received their high school diplomas and celebrated together the conclusion of an important chapter in their lives.
In their remarks, Principal Patricia Reisyan, Upper School Coordinator Sitem Kolburan, German Consul General Sybille Pfaff, and Kay Brügmann, representative of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs, praised the achievements of the graduating class and the exceptional accomplishment of the graduates, who successfully completed their studies and earned their high school diplomas despite the challenging times.
Another highlight of the evening was the farewell to Consul General Sybille Pfaff, who is leaving Dubai after four years. In her remarks, she praised the German International School Dubai as an important bridge between Germany and the world and warmly congratulated the graduates on their success.
Patricia Reisyan reminded the graduates that challenges can also be opportunities for personal growth. She encouraged them to use their experiences at the German International School Dubai as a springboard for the future and to shape their paths ahead with courage, curiosity, and an open mind.
The musical performances by the DISD elementary school choir and the impressive piano recital by Narek Movsisyan, a 11th-grade student, provided some particularly moving moments.
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Board of Directors’ awards. Aylin Sarikaya, Ela Sarikaya, Charlize Gerlacher, and Leni Schulz were honored for their outstanding high school GPA of 1.0. Lina Fayyad received a special award for her exceptional dedication and commitment to the school community.
The German International School Dubai warmly congratulates all graduates on passing their Abitur and wishes them confidence, joy, and success as they move forward. With their German high school diploma, they now have access to numerous opportunities at prestigious universities in Germany and around the world.
