A great action and fun filled football day for the DISD community

In the third football tournament of the school year, 7 teams fought for the trophy inside the DISD Hall.

Players ranged from 2nd to 10th grade students all the way to parents as well as DISD employees and members of the board.

Our youngest teams The Power Rangers and Mixed Grade earnt the respect of the audience by showing great effort. Also team Invincibles who had to rely on help from some younger supporters put up a good performance on the pitch.

After an exciting round of group games, the top 4 for the semifinals were clear though: Team Julian, Die Rasensprenger, Waterball and Fireball.

Team Julian worked hard to defend their title and made it through successfully to the final where they met Team Fireball.

In the meantime the third place play off was drawing an audience as it ended 2:2 and a long round of penalties was to follow!

With a great performance from both goalkeepers Youssef (Waterball) and Helge (Die Rasensprenger), both teams stayed alive for several shots!

In the end Die Rasensprenger could preserve though and went on to collect the bronze medals.

The final saw the young team from the Fireballs put up a great fight against our 8th-10th graders and only with one final push, could our title defenders secure gold with a 3:2 close win!

Congratulations to all and thank you for taking part!

Thank you as well to the team of Bestworscht for being part of the event with the delicious Bratwurst and refreshments.
