DISD took part in the German Read-aloud-day

The annual Vorlesetag (Read-aloud-day) took place on 17th November in Germany. DISD was also part of it!

The students read to each other under guidance of our librarians and the German teachers. Some mixed groups were also part of the Vorlesetag, consisting of students from the primary and secondary school. The initiative was funded by the German newspaper Die Zeit, der Stiftung Lesen (German Reading Foundation) and the Deutsche Bahn Stiftung (Foundation of the German Train Company).

The project took place in the cozy environment of our two libraries as well as outdoors and ended with small snacks and certificates for the students. Some parents were also present and thus supported the goal of the project to generate enthusiasm with kids for reading.
