National Day Celebrations at DISD
The UAE’s National Day was celebrated on Wednesday, 29th November at DISD. The Arabic Department had prepared a colorful program for the students. The morning started out with a mix of singing, dance and theater in primary school. The students were asked to dress in Arabic costumes and in the national colors. Prizes were given out for best costumes as well as best paintings of the UAE. A highlight was the presentation of an Emirati wedding, which was practiced with much effort by the students. The celebrations ended with delicious Arabic treats, which the students enjoyed in class.
The afternoon was filled with presentations and quizzes in the secondary school library. They covered the occasion of the National day – the countries’ unification on 1971 – as well as the Commemoration Day on 30th November, which remembers the fallen soldiers of the country.
The Kindergarten celebrated with a diverse and fun day with games, a yummy buffet and great costumes. We want to thank all responsible teachers, staff and parents who took time and effort to offer the children such a great day, before they started into the long weekend.
