DISD at “Youth presents”

This year, DISD is participating for the first time in the German competition “Jugend präsentiert” (Youth Presents). The competition offers participants the opportunity to deal with the topic of presentation in an extracurricular context. A jury of experts and, in the final round, the audience will evaluate a maximum of 5-minute videos on mathematical-technical-scientific issues with regard to expertise, presentation skills and target group orientation.

All students from grade 7 up to the age of 21 can participate in “Jugend präsentiert”. At the time of the closing date for submitting the video, they must be attending a secondary German-speaking school.

This year, according to very recent figures, 5,500 pupils took part in the competition, more than ever before. The 500 best participants were invited to one of eight country finals a few days ago.

Among them are two students from our school, a great achievement!

Congratulations to Karma Elgharib and Seera Eid from the 9th grade!

Karma has submitted a presentation on “The Earth’s Magnetic Field” and Seera is in the running with a presentation on “Renewable Energy with reference to Dubai”.

The state final, which is responsible for our school, will take place in Dreieich (Hesse) on April 24th and 25th. We wish our two candidates a lot of fun and success and keep our fingers crossed that they reach the national final, which will take place in Berlin from September 13th to 15th.
