Students collect donations together with students from Sheikh Zayed University

We, the girls from grade 12, visited one of our neighboring universities, the Sheikh Zayed University in Academic City on 2nd of November. There, we handed over our donations of school supplies, which had been collected since the summer in DISD, for Syrian refugee kids in Jordan.

We were welcomed in a very friendly way by the teachers and students who then held a presentation on the occasion of the Emirati Flag Day and proceeded to play a little quiz game with us about the presented information. At last, we had the opportunity to eat Emirati food and try on Emirati clothing and even get beautiful henna patterns. We also had the chance to talk to the students and get to know them better and ask questions which was very educational.

Here are a few comments about the wonderful experience we had:

* “It was really interesting to be introduced to the Emirati culture by young and proud Emirati women.”

* “It was great to see the school day of the locals”

* “I really enjoyed establishing new acquaintances with the students.”
